Application of Fluorspar (CaF2)
Metallurgical grade fluorspar is supplied to steelmakers for use as flux agent to lower the melting temperature and increase the fluidity of steelmaking slags.  It helps to increase absorption and removal of sulfur, phosphorus, carbon and other impurities in the slag; It can also use in cement –to speed up the calcination process and enables the kiln to operate at lower temperatures.

Acid grade fluorspar is used in steel ladle metallurgy and in the production of aluminum fluoride for the primary aluminum industry. ALF3 which acts as a flux to lower the bath temperature in the manufacture of aluminum.
